Cocktail Audio X30: making the future perfect

‘Research showed a strong desire for an upmarket version of the X10’

The sleek new Cocktail Audio X30 is the latest hi-tech offering for both music fans and gadget geeks.

Available from September, the X30 is the ultimate CD storage unit, HD music server, network streamer and power amplifier – all in one compact unit.

It has limitless capacity storage, which means it can hold an incredible 60,000 CDs, which can be played or ripped using the high-speed, front-loading disc drive. And tracks can be catalogued by album, artist, genre or year, and album artwork displayed on the five-inch LCD screen.

A free app will turn a phone or tablet (iOS and Android) into a remote control for the  X30 – and stream content too.

The Cocktail Audio X30 also has built-in, recordable FM and internet radio, and a five-inch colour screen for navigation and viewing album artwork.

And it’s easy to add extra storage space using the customised drawer.

The brand new X30 is the latest addition to the Cocktail Audio range and, says Peter Cooke, of UK distributor Sygnifi, is an ‘upmarket version’ of its X10 sibling.

“Conversations with audiophiles at the Bristol Sound & Vision Show and experienced retailers, showed a strong desire for an upmarket version of the X10 with better quality components and additional features,” he explains. “And so the idea for the X30 was born.

“Features such as Bluetooth, Burr-Brown DAC, FM radio, higher quality connectors distinguish it from the X10. But the different price brackets for the two models means there’s room in the market for both.”

So while the X10 will remain the system of choice for those looking to spend no more than £500, the X30 will stand proud alongside the very best audio components and standalone systems.

Prices start at £799 (excl VAT) for the 500GB HDD model.

X30 supports up to 4TB of 3.5in hard disk, up to 1TB of 2.5in hard disk and up to 500GB of SSD
